| MY EXPERIENCE IN JACKSONVILLE |

When I travel I have to see minimum 1 museum. When I was searching for tourist attractions around Jacksonville I discovered this museum called The Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens. I was excited to visit this museum because I had read a lot of good reviews of it, specifically about their gardens. It's an indoor art exhibition where they have a cool section with vintage radios and retro photos, and a outdoors garden exhibition. That's what I wast most excited about. They have three flower gardens (The English Garden, The Italian Garden and The Olmsted Garden) on the museum grounds, the oldest dating back to 1903. I have never been so in love with a garden before, they have fountains, pools and obviously lots of flowers. It was breathtaking! A fact that you should know is that the Cummer Gardens are the only gardens in Florida that have preserved their original layout and planting schemes for over 100 years. This was definitely my favorite place.

My second favorite place was the city of Old St. Augustine. It's the nation's oldest city and a historic district with museums, shops, and trolley tours. The trolley companies have packages for a 1 day visit or 3 day visit just in case you don't want to see everything in a rush that same day. I took the 1 day trolley tour because we were coming back to Puerto Rico the next day so we didn't have time to see everything (hoping on my next trip to Jacksonville I can take the 3 day tour visit). It took us through the old city of St. Augustine, where we saw a wax museum, church's, city hall and the fountain of youth. They also have a fort called Castillo de San Marcos, which reminded me of Old San Juan in Puerto Rico. It's a great family friendly place.

My third favorite place I visited was Hanna Park. It's a public beach and city park with a lot to do in a fun area to visit. In addition to the white sand beach, the park offers bike trails, lakes, hiking trails, RV and tent camping, picnic shelters, volleyball and shuffleboard courts, and a visitor's center. The park gets a lot of day use and the sites are private and nestled under a lot of vegetation. What I loved about Hanna Park is that you got everything in one big place. If you're in Jacksonville you should definitely check out these places.

On to the next adventure!
